Literature Analysis #1

I am reading a book called I so dont like mysteries It is about a little girl named Sherry that has to help save her moms life in the afterlife in order for her to talk to her as a ghost. Sherry’s mom was a cop and was never really around when she was alive. She died when Sherry was 10 in a car crash, Now that her mom has passed away for about 2 years her dad is getting remarried. Sherry doesn’t like it because first of all, She doesn’t believe anyone should try to take her moms spot and second, He’s getting remarried with one of her math teachers from school she doesn’t like because she's very strict, She calls her The Ruler. Sherry has a bestfriend named Junie. In order to save her moms life in the afterlife she needs to go to San Diego with her Great Aunt to solve a mystery at an animal park. Sherry’s too stressed about everything so she tells her best friend and she doesn’t believe her, she thinks she's delusional and that this whole thing with her having a new step mom is getting to her, but Sherry still keeps on going and doesn't stop telling her so Junie decides to help her and at the end the succeed on solving the mystery.

Love: Only helping her mom solve the mystery because she misses her and wants to spend time with her since they didn’t when she was alive.
Getting along with people you didnt think you would: At first she doesn’t like The Ruler then after she starts to like her.
Responsibility: At some point your going to have to step up to the plate and do things you didn’t think you were capable of.
Getting rid of fears: Junie didn’t like to do work at all because she didn’t think she could do it but with her moms support and her bestfriend she made it through.

“My mothers confidence in me being able to solve this mystery stopped me from backing out”
-She was happy because she never really had these moments when her mom was alive.
“Didn’t add the idiot part at the end because i didn’t want to sound rude”
-She acts like a really nice friend when Junie says dumb stuff so she can help her solve the mystery at the Animal Park.

“When she was alive, she was never around because she was to busy at work”

  1. I like how detailed the summary is, but remember to avoid theme cliches! Add more literary devices too! But overall it looks good (:

  2. I agree with Emily. I like how it was short, even though your suppose to have more on it.
